First things first. My sister, The Farmer Liz as you know her, wrote her first book! I say “first”, because we all know this won’t be the last book. It’s an eBook on Amazon and you can check it out here!
The book describes Liz’s journey of becoming a farmer and how you, YES YOU, can start your own ventures in farming or elsewhere. I’m so proud of her, as are all her other family members and friends. Liz has always been a writer, so it was always a matter of “when” she’d write a book, not “if”. Like I said, check it out and let us know what you think!
A couple of my girlfriends and I had the BEST dinner the other night at a new restaurant in Philly. It’s called 1100 Social and it’s in the Xfinity Live complex near the stadiums. The restaurant is a Mexican/Asian fusion (the best combination ever?!) and all the food and drinks were delicious. I can’t wait to go back!
(All of the food was AMAZING, but Leanna’s Pad Thai - on the left - won favorite dish of the night)
(The pink raspberry Paloma was the favorite drink)
Dinner was a prequel to the rest of the night, which was a Taking Back Sunday concert at Xfinity! Taking Back Sunday was my favorite band in middle school and parts of high school, so we had a great time. My other friends were also all obsessed with them at one point or another, so we could all sing along to every single song.
I’ve been reunited with Jon lately, which has been nice. We scoped out the road closures for the Pope last weekend, then went for a nice run last night. I’ll be honest - we did less than five miles and I was struggling! Still trying to recover from the Lehigh Valley marathon - not training really did me in.
(Picture taking while biking makes for a blurry picture, but check out the green fountain!)
(Sweaty city selfie on the South Street Bridge)
The most exciting part about this past weekend, however, was the Run Life Co. photo shoot! A friend and photographer, Addie, came down to Philly to do some professional shots (she must’ve seen my current website pictures and was horrified ;), along with two of my super athletic and beautiful model friends, Kelly and Megan (who happen to be sisters!). We went all over Philly to get some good pictures and had so much fun! I can’t wait to see finished photos! In the meantime, if you’re looking for a photographer, Addison George Photography is the best out there. You’ll be hearing more about Addie in the future, but she’s been taking photos as long as I can remember and was a great director this weekend. Check out Addie’s website here!
(Of course we had to take some pictures under the Ben Franklin!)
Last thing - if you haven't already heard, Melissa R. was the winner of our free shirt drawing! There will be more contests in the future for shirts and other prizes, so keep checking back!
(I literally wrote out every name and picked from a bag - I still struggle with technology sometimes)
Enjoy the rest of your week and be careful during Popepocalypse if you're in DC, Philly or NY this week!!!
