It’s been a while since I’ve overshared my life, so here’s the update! The holidays were a ton of fun. I spent time with friends, family, and even a few Mummers. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Mummer’s Day Parade in Philadelphia, I recommend you look it up. Mummers (a cultural group in Philly although I’m not familiar with their background) dress up and march down Broad Street in the morning of New Year's Day, then down 2nd Street AKA 2 Street at night. It’s one big party! If you’re ever at a loss for New Year’s Day plans, come to Philly. You won’t regret it.

Taking a step back to Christmas Eve, we had a pretty awesome Christmas present when my mom found fresh broccoli in the field:
Although 70 degrees isn’t “normal” for Christmas Eve, I was really enjoying it…

My grandma made a wonderful dinner that night and we had homemade baklava from her neighbor. This might be the most delicious thing I tasted in 2015:

Then yesterday the weather finally realized that it’s winter on the east coast and we were hit with this:
I’m not too happy about the abrupt drop in temperature. I was ready to walk right back in my house after opening to door to go to yoga last night. But I made it there and it was wonderful. Yoga always reminds me how much we need to stretch as runners, especially after working at a desk all day. We don’t always realize how tight and inflexible our muscles have become until we try to stretch them.
Since New Year’s Day, I haven’t been feeling well. I thought it was from having too much fun on New Year’s Eve, but since I still feel sick to my stomach every time I eat something, I’m a little worried. The same thing happened to me in college from stress, caffeine, and if I’m being honest, probably too much alcohol. If you have any suggestions for fixing this (besides cutting out caffeine and alcohol which is my next step), please share! I’m 100% open to suggestions.
In other news, I’ve started studying to become a group fitness instructor. Who’s up for some yogilates?! The 30 day strength training challenge has also started on the Run Life Co. Instagram. Follow along and start your year off with a strong running body!
